Will I Continue Blogging
hmm... after this class I probably wont blog anymore. The reason is because no one else I know uses Blogger. If I do continue blogging it would probably be with Myspace but even that is unlikely. When I first made this blog for the class it was pretty fun especially adding pics, music, and videos. Its kind of like another Myspace but the only people i would know is people in the class. I think that in addition to all the required blogs everyone should also be required to at least one entry about anything each week. I think this would motivate the class to use Blogger more because that way everyone would actually read other people's blog as well as comment on them. The blogs would have each individuals personality in it instead of just assignments. Overall I still think Blogger was a good experience but not something I would continue unless other people continue using it.
Dot.com to Dot.BOMB
I can't remember any discussion about the Dot.com in class besides the presentation with the origami dinosaurs. What I remember about the presentation was that it was sort of a race or competition between different companies. Another issue that I remember was about how everyone thought that they were rich because their website was worth money? also that its only worth as much as people are willing to pay for it. Therefore people weren't rich but only rich in the virtual world. I cant remember much about this presentation because it was so long ago therefore I can't really blog on it.

Travel Planning and The Web
The internet has revolutionized the world. Almost everything can be done online now. For instance shopping online, selling online, creating membership, and also travel planning. Travel planning on the web makes life alot easier because with a few clicks of a button one can obtain information on how much the vacation would cost. How much would it be to rent a room, which hotel is the cheapest, what places to go to are all online. I have not used the internet to plan any vacations or traveling plans because I'm a poor college student with no money to use on vacations lol. In the future I plan on using the internet to find all my information instead of calling multiple people to acquire information.

Kevin Freitas
On Wensday Kevin Freitas came in and spoke about his blog. I thought it was kind of funny when he read out some of his entries. For instance the one about cupcakes and ewoks. Its amazing how he updates it daily and has entries from previous years. I cant remember when he first started but I was before 2003 because I remembered him saying he lost all the entries for 2003. During his presentation I actually thought about continuing my blog. I just thought about how crazy the web is and how every piece of information put on the web will remain. What if i die will people in future generations still be able to find information about me? or even entries on my blog? Also being recognized by random people would be interesting. For example Kevin Freitas said that there was random people that come up and talk to him about his blogs because he has posted a picture of himself on his blog.

3 online communities that I am in
There are many online communities out there. I'm involved in three. One is . The second is in a forum called and the lastly I play a mmorpg called Ragnarok.
Myspace is probably the community that I am active in. I just like using it to look at other people's pics and comment about random stuff. I think thats what keeps myspace alive. I never thought of making a myspace until HotImport Nights a few years back. I took a picture with a model and it was posted on myspace and the only way i could view it was to get a myspace account. Every since then I have been using myspace. My second community Afterdawn is a message board full of instructions about installing software or hardware. I started posting on this forum when i had to get information on how to install a chip. Lastly Ragnarok is probably my least active community. I was really into it a long time ago but now I just sign on and walk around then sigh off. Basically Ragnarok is a small virtual world that has shops and 200 other human players. Other then that these are the three communities I consider to be in.

Yea too bad I was sick the day of the scavenger hunt.. cough cough** but at least i was lucky enough to get another chance to do it.

Community
What does it take to make a community. Well to me a community is just a bunch of people that share a common interest. Online communities exist in forums and even in the blogs we created for this class. For instance I post my thoughts on my blog and whoever reads it comments one it. The next person that reads it will also comment or reply to the previous comment. This creates a community of people that share the same interest and want to voice their opinion. Communities also exist in online video games (mmorpg) where people all over the world are able to come together and interact. Alot of games these days have small communities in the game. For instance people would join groups for a common purpose such as completing a quest or attacking rival groups. I myself have never really played games like this because I don't have fifteen dollars a month to waste on a game but I have seen my friends play. What makes this more like a community is that players are able to use team speak to talk to other players through a microphone.
